There were 319 items total for my sizes (and therefore available in extended sizing) out of 2,648 total items on the site as of press time. I didn’t end up making any purchasesĬons: My biggest issue about Nuuly was the small selection available in my size.

My Nuuly shipment arrived quickly-and as I mentioned before, wrinkle free-and the hardest part was deciding which of the six items to try first.

(You can also search specifically by petite, standard, or plus overall.) Also, when you search anything within the site-be it a brand or a specific product-it automatically shows you results only in your size so you aren’t heartbroken when you click something and it’s not available to you. It was nice that petite, standard, and plus were all on one page instead of in their own sections, so it didn’t make me feel othered as a plus-size woman. I was glad to be able to rent the mustard denim jacket and pleated metallic black jumpsuit before committing, because neither of them ended up being exactly my style. I immediately saw three items I had previously put in my Anthropologie and ModCloth carts but not purchased. Overall, it was all very thoughtful, with a clearly higher-end aesthetic. TBH, I was kind of sad to have to return the box. There was also a folded reusable tote that fit this clothing box for when you return it to a UPS location-the worst part of these boxes is schlepping them back to return!-and a little clear pocket on the top of the box to slide your new UPS label in.

Nuuly will take care of mending rips and tears and laundering, but this is nice for if you want to wear an outfit a few times during your month with it. Inside, there was a Pinch Provisions emergency kit with a lint roller, double-sided tape, wrinkle remover, a deodorant-removing sponge, and static-remover spray. Instead of cardboard boxes, tissue paper, and plastic mailing labels, Nuuly sent my order in a gorgeous domed-lid, maroon-hued sturdy yet soft box made from recycled consumer plastic (a little label on the inside told me that) that zipped open all the way around the perimeter so I could get a look at all my clothing rolled up neatly, unwrinkled. Pros: First off, the packaging for Nuuly is among the nicest-looking and most sustainable ones I’ve come across with a subscription box. You can pause your subscription for up to three months if you need a breather-and during the hiatus you can keep some pieces in your virtual closet, and they’ll remain there until you decide to come back. After the month is up, you can buy many items at a discount, ranging from 10% to 30%, on average.

That includes two-day shipping and returns, and professional cleaning (which is the norm for these rentals), and there are no late fees or damage fees.

It costs $88 per month to rent six items at a time.
